We live in a world obsessed with categorization.
Are you an introvert who requires solitude to recharge? An extrovert who thrives on the energy of others?
We take tests, wear badges, and try to fit our complex souls into neat boxes defined by how we react to the world.
For a long time, none of those boxes felt quite right to me. They were too horizontal—focused on looking inward at myself or outward at others.
My name is Beatrice, and as I navigated my winding journey of faith, I realized I needed a different kind of label. One defined not by noise or quiet, but by my Source – God.
That is where Beatrovert was born.
The Birth of Beatrovert
It started as a playful twist on my name, but it quickly grew into a personal manifesto. If the root word “vert” means “to turn,” then an introvert turns inward, and an extrovert turns outward.
A Beatrovert turns upward—toward God.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33
A Beatrovert doesn’t look to the world to define her identity. She turns to God to define her very being.
The “Be” is vital. It’s a reminder of the call to simply Be—to rest in the identity of who God created me to be, rather than constantly striving to do. It’s about shedding the pressure to perform and embracing the permission to become.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10
A Space To Be
This blog is the messy, beautiful documentation of that process. It’s a collection of musings from the middle of my journey. I don’t have it all figured out. Some days I still try to fit into the world’s boxes. But my compass is set.
So, welcome to Beatrovert.
This is a space for those tired of the usual labels.
The most important turn you can make isn’t inward or outward, but upward, toward the One who calls you His own.
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13
